Position: Principal

John Paul II Center is seeking a dynamic and innovative educational leader with a strong commitment to Catholic Education. The center operates two programs, a school age program for children (pre-K through 21 years of age) and an adult program for individuals over 21 years of age with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Principal is the chief administrator of the center and is responsible for overseeing curriculum, enrollment, development, facilities, finance as well as implementing policies and planning goals for the center. They will also be knowledgeable and experienced in writing and implementing IEPs. 

The Principal will be the inspirational leader for the center possessing moral and Catholic vision to take the center forward in collaboration with the Board, the Superintendent, and School Administration in the further advancement of the center’s mission, goals and strategies for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Principal provides for the spiritual atmosphere inherent in a traditional Catholic educational environment.

The Principal will oversee a state licensed adult program and work with John Paul II’s experienced adult program director to ensure state mandates are met and programming is meeting the needs of the individuals in the program.

Master’s Degree in Education or School Administration required. Advanced degree in special education or related field preferred. PA State Teaching & Principal Certificates preferred. Special Education Supervisory Certificate a plus. Minimum of five years teaching or administrative experience in special education preferred. Experience in development, fund-raising, marketing and implementing strategic plans is essential. Knowledge with non-profit fiscal management, managing operational budgets and finances also required. The ideal candidate is high energy, well-organized and an effective verbal and written communicator who can cultivate positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, administration, community, donors, educators, and board members. All safe environment check and/or clearances must be in place prior to employment.
