Director of Alumni Relations, Berks

Berks Catholic High school is seeking a full-time Director of Alumni Relations to develop, implement, manage, and maintain alumni programs.

Job Summary:

The Director of Alumni Relations (DAR) will design programs to increase alumni engagement by maintaining relationships with active alumni as well as establishing new relationships with graduates of Reading Central Catholic High School, Holy Name High School, and Berks Catholic High School. The DAR will also collaborate with the Director of Institutional Advancement (DIA) in growing and cultivating an atmosphere of philanthropy within the Berks Catholic alumni community. The Director of Alumni relations will work with the DIA to use an integrated approach for establishing an innovative plan to advance the mission of the school within the alumni base.

Essential Duties:

  • Manage Alumni Publications: Annual Report, Trinity Newsletter, and E-Newsletter (6 times per year).
  • Saint’s Annual Fund: Assist DIA.
  • EITC/OSTC/SPE: Assist DIA.
  • Manage/Coordinate Alumni Events:
  • Fundraising
  • Reunions
  • Networking
  • Meetings
  • Engage Alumni in school events.
  • Work with DIA to Manage Alumni Fundraising:
  • Collaborates with DIA to implement successful Fundraising campaigns.
  • Give Like a Saint
  • Extravaganza
  • Send Thank you acknowledgements to all donors.
  • Creatively use social media, online resources, and volunteers to effectively communicate and build community within the BC community.
  • Research and apply best practices to increase engagement, participation, and gifts.
  • Assesses the quality and efficiency of alumni relations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years’ experience in development, alumni relations, or related field preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including strong verbal and written presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.

Physical Demands: The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear; frequent use of equipment that includes repetitive motions and utilization of a computer. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.

Working Conditions:  Normal office working conditions.  Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  May be required occasionally to work in excess of/outside of normal work hours.
