Diocese of Allentown Bishop Alfred Schlert will ordain an Allentown man a transitional deacon in ceremonies at the Cathedral of Saint Catharine of Siena in Allentown on Saturday, May 16th at 10:30 AM. A transitional deacon is one step from being ordained a priest.

The annual Gala was held at DeSales University, March 8. The event is the primary fundraiser for Catholic Charities, and helps fund community assistance such as feeding the hungry, assisting those in danger of becoming homeless, counseling those in need, and helping people become financially self-sufficient in their lives.
