Diocese To Expand Learning Support Program Into Northampton County
April 10, 2017

To meet a growing need among students, the Diocese of Allentown Office of Education will open a Northampton County location of its Aquinas Learning Support Program (ALSP) for elementary students at St. Anne’s School of Bethlehem at the beginning of the 2017-18 school year.  St. Anne’s School will host an Open House for prospective students and will introduce the program to the community on April 20 at 6:30pm.

Diocesan School Leadership Part Of Adolescent Addiction Discussion

Diocese Awards $93,000 In Poverty Relief Fund Grants

The Diocese of Allentown has announced that 22 programs and agencies from each of the five counties of the Diocese have been awarded Poverty Relief Fund grants totaling more than $93,000. The money is allocated from the proceeds of the Poverty Relief Fund collection taken up in the 84 parishes of the diocese in the third weekend of November.

Diocesan Administrator Is Elected

The 10-member Diocese of Allentown College of Consultors, a group of Diocesan priests, met this afternoon (Wednesday) to fulfill its canonical duty of electing a priest of the Diocese to serve as Diocesan Administrator, in the absence of a bishop. The former Bishop of Allentown John Barres was installed as Bishop of Rockville Centre, NY on January 31.
