Holy Infancy Parish in Bethlehem will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the apparitions of the Blessed Mother to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal with a special Mass and other events on Saturday, May 13.

$142,000 In Scholarships To Be Awarded At Ceremony

Diocese of Allentown Administrator, Monsignor Alfred A. Schlert will present 133 eighth grade students from Catholic elementary schools around the Diocese and one student from each of the three Special Learning Centers with $1,000 scholarships to one of the diocesan high schools or Special Learning Centers. The presentation will take place at the annual Bishop's Scholar Society Awards Ceremony at Berks Catholic High School in Reading on Saturday, April 29 at 10 AM.
To meet a growing need among students, the Diocese of Allentown Office of Education will open a Northampton County location of its Aquinas Learning Support Program (ALSP) for elementary students at St. Anne’s School of Bethlehem at the beginning of the 2017-18 school year. St. Anne’s School will host an Open House for prospective students and will introduce the program to the community on April 20 at 6:30pm.

As part of this effort, people are invited to come and view “Generation Found,” a documentary on adolescent addiction and its program model for supporting sober solutions; especially important with the current epidemic society is facing.

Diocese Awards $93,000 In Poverty Relief Fund Grants

The Diocese of Allentown has announced that 22 programs and agencies from each of the five counties of the Diocese have been awarded Poverty Relief Fund grants totaling more than $93,000. The money is allocated from the proceeds of the Poverty Relief Fund collection taken up in the 84 parishes of the diocese in the third weekend of November.
