Bishop of Allentown Alfred Schlert, center, carries palms in procession on Palm Sunday, April 14 at the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena, Allentown. The feast commemorates Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem the week before his passion and crucifixion, when the people paved his path with olive branches as a sign of victory and reverential honor.
