Diocese Names New Chief Financial Officer

Sean Werner has been named Chief Financial Officer of the Diocese of Allentown.

He is the former Director of Global Business Transformation at QVC, the home-shopping network that broadcasts to 350 million households in seven countries.

Werner is a member of Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Douglassville, where he serves on the Parish Finance Council. He also serves his parish as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and Lector.

He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration at Villanova University and his Master of Business Administration Degree in Finance at the University of Notre Dame.

Werner will oversee the diocesan Office of Finance, Parish Support, Information Technology, and Diocesan Cemeteries. He will report to Kim Fiorentino, Diocesan Secretary for Administration.

The Secretariat for Administration supports and enables the diocese’s work to accomplish Bishop Alfred Schlert’s three main pastoral priorities regarding Clergy, the Laity, and Charitable Works.

Bishop Schlert announced Werner’s appointment in a letter to clergy and diocesan employees. “I ask you to please join me in offering Sean our prayers and a very warm welcome to our diocesan family,” he said.
