Donor Makes New Science Lab Possible At Catholic School In Allentown

Father George Jose Kochuparambil (Father Johnson), administrator of Our Lady Help of Christians Parish in Allentown will dedicate the parish school's new science lab made possible through a generous gift from the estate of long-time parishioner and CYO Coach Greg Oswald. Members of Greg's family, school and parish staff, and Diocesan leaders will gather at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the school to dedicate the science lab in his honor.

The family of Greg Oswald made the gift in honor for his many years of commitment to the parish and school community at Our Lady Help of Christians in Allentown. The gift was designated for the benefit of the students. School administrators, Father Johnson, and Diocesan education officials determined the best use of the funds was to create a science lab in the school. A space in the school was renovated to house lab tables, equipment, new lighting, flooring, and water supply for a needed sink. The science lab will be well utilized in the growing integration of science and technology into the traditional academic curriculum.

Principal Mary Vanya commented, "All of us are looking forward to the Greg Oswald Jr. Science Lab as it will be a very special teaching and learning area and a beautiful honor for Greg. We could not have done this without the generosity of the family!"
