Distinguished Alumni From Diocesan High Schools to Be Honored

Monsignor Alfred Schlert, Diocesan Administrator for the Diocese of Allentown will present a graduate from each of the six Catholic high schools in the Diocese with a Distinguished Catholic Alumni Award on Saturday, April 29 at 10 AM at Berks Catholic High School in Reading.

The awards will be presented at the annual Bishop's Scholar Society Awards ceremony at which scholarships are being presented to 148 students from the elementary schools, high schools and special learning centers in the Diocese.

The Distinguished Catholic Alumni Awards are being presented to recognize alumni, chosen by the schools, who have achieved outstanding success in their fields, are practicing Catholics, and role models for today's student scholars.

The honorees are:

• Joseph V. Topper, Jr., Allentown Central Catholic High School class of 1973
• Lt. Col. Patrick Dundon, Bethlehem Catholic High School class of 1985
• Natalie Parisi, the former Holy Name High School class of 1985 being honored by Berks Catholic
• Dr. Richard J. O'Donnell, Marian Catholic High School class of 1981
• Edward Tray, Nativity BVM High School class of 1965
• Mayor Salvatore J. Panto, Jr., Notre Dame High School class of 1969

All of the honorees are expected to be present to receive the award.
