Cardinal Brennan Transition Update
March 29, 2007
Significant progress
has been made in the transition process in the six days since the June
closure of Cardinal Brennan Junior/Senior High School was announced:
- On Wednesday,
March 28 Nativity BVM High School principal Father Ronald V. Jankaitis,
Th.M. and Marian High School principal Sister Bernard Agnes Smith, I.H.M.
met with Cardinal Brennan's 8th through 11th grade students to acquaint
them with what their schools had to offer.
- Trinity Academy
principal Sister Mary Ann Spaetti, I.H.M. visited Cardinal Brennan on
Thursday, March 29 to talk to the seventh grade class about Trinity
Academy.
- On Friday, March
30, the principals of all four schools involved (Cardinal Brennan, Trinity
Academy, Nativity and Marian) will meet with Diocesan officials to discuss
the transition process.
- Public school transportation
from the North Schuylkill School District and the Shenandoah Valley
School District will be provided to Nativity BVM High School in Pottsville.
The Diocese will contract for bus transportation from the North Schuylkill
area to Marian High School in Hometown.
- On Monday, April
2 there will be an open house at Nativity BVM High School at 6:30 PM.
A flyer was sent home with the students on Wednesday.
- On Tuesday, April
3 there will be an open house at Marian High School at 7 PM. A flyer
was sent home with the students on Wednesday.
- On Wednesday, April
4, Sister Mary Ann Spaetti will hold a meet-and-greet for seventh grade
parents at Trinity academy. A formal open house will be held after Easter.
- Also on Wednesday,
April 4 a meeting will be held for Cardinal Brennan faculty and staff
with human resources personnel from the Diocese of Allentown.
- The formal transition
team will be formed after the administrator's meeting tomorrow. The
first transition team meeting will be after the team members are contacted
