Msgr. Domin wins Clergy Golf Tournament by one stroke

The Clergy Golf Tournament was played June 13 at Southmoore Golf Course, Bath, with a total of 15 participants from the Diocese of Allentown.

Reigning champion Msgr. Ed Domin retained his title by the slimmest of margins by birding #18 for a one-shot victory over Father Jason Stokes. Msgr. Domin shot 75; Father Stokes 76.

Rounding out the top five in the Priest Division were: third, Father Keith Mathur (83); fourth, Father John Frink (87); and fifth, Father Brian Miller (88).

In the Senior Priest Division (65 years and older) the returning champion was Msgr. Patrick Schoenauer, who shot 93.

Rounding out the top three seniors: second, Msgr. William Handges (103); and third, Msgr. Joseph Smith (107).

In the Deacon Division the new champion was Deacon Bill Autrey, with a score of 88.

Rounding out the top three deacons: second, Deacon John Stapleton (97); and third, Deacon Larry Lonergan (98).

Closest to the pin on #3 was Father John Frink (13 feet, 1 inch);  #12, Msgr. Ed Domin (2 feet, 8 inches); #16, Msgr. Joseph Smith (8 feet, 4 inches;  and longest drive on #10, Msgr. Domin (251 yards).

The most honest golfer was Msgr. Thomas Orsulak (110++).

A great day was had by all and proceeds from the tournament, $150, were donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Catharine of Siena Parish, Reading.
