Bishop Schlert Celebrates Schuylkill Deanery Mass at St. Clare

An estimated 475 faithful and priests from the 18 parishes comprising the Schuylkill Deanery gathered at St. Clare of Assisi, St. Clair to celebrate the new Bishop of Allentown.

The special Mass was celebrated October 2 to welcome Bishop of Allentown Alfred Schlert as the new leader of the Allentown Diocese.

Students from Nativity BVM High School, Pottsville as well as the Knights of Columbus Schuylkill Assembly 923, 4th Degree Honor Guard; ACTION Youth Group; children representing each parish; and students from Marian High School, Tamaqua; St. Joseph Center for Special Learning, Pottsville; St. Ambrose, Schuylkill Haven; Assumption BVM School, Pottsville; St. Jerome Regional, Tamaqua; and Trinity Academy at the Father Walter Ciszek Education Center, Shenandoah processed into the the church.
