Bishop Alfred Schlert celebrated a special Lehigh Deanery Mass Oct. 4 at St. Francis of Assisi, Allentown, his first Mass in the deanery since being ordained and installed Bishop of Allentown Aug. 31.

Concelebrating with the Bishop were Msgr. Daniel Yenushosky, pastor of Holy Trinity, Whitehall and vicar forane of the Lehigh Deanery; and Msgr. Victor Finelli, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi.

Msgr. Finelli rejoiced along with many parishioners from St. Francis as they celebrated their Feast Day Oct. 4 with Bishop Schlert.

“The parish of St. Francis couldn’t be any happier in welcoming back to our parish Bishop Schlert, who was stationed here for his first priestly assignment 30 years ago,” Msgr. Finelli said.
