Bishop asks for prayers in advance of national meeting on abuse crisis

Bishop Alfred Schlert is inviting the faithful to join him in seven days of prayer leading up to the national meeting of bishops in mid-November, at which critical decisions will be made in response to the clergy sexual abuse crisis.

Bishop Schlert and his brother bishops will be in a period of intensive prayer and fasting from Nov. 5 through Nov. 11.

All are welcome to join him in praying for healing and support of victims, for conversion and just punishment of perpetrators, and for strength for the bishops to protect and leading their sheep from all harm.
