A Day of Prayer and Care for Caregivers was held at St. Joseph Center for Special Learning, Pottsville. The daylong event on June 24 welcomed 11 people who are caregivers for a loved one who is ill or has a disability.

Sister of Mercy Sister Janice Marie Johnson , director of the diocesan Office for Ministry with Persons with Disabilities, organized the event, which was previously held in the Berks and Lehigh/Northampton deaneries. “Caregivers commented on how they appreciated the opportunity to have a day of spiritual growth and relaxation just for them,” said Sister Janice.
