VETERAN NEW JERSEY EDUCATOR NAMED NEW PRINCIPAL AT PIUS X

Diocese of Allentown Bishop John Barres has appointed a veteran New Jersey educator as principal of Pius X Junior/Senior High School in Roseto, effective July 1.

Dr. Anthony G. Ingenito, 56, comes to Pius X from Montclair State University and New Jersey City University where he has been an adjunct professor and student teacher mentor for the last eleven years. Before that he was a teacher, assistant principal and principal at several public school districts in North Jersey, among them the Warren County Technical School in Washington, NJ where he served from 2002 to 2005.

Dr. Ingenito is a graduate of New Jersey City University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in special education. He has earned two Master’s degrees from Montclair State University in guidance and counseling, and administration/supervision. He has a doctorate in education from Seton Hall University in education leadership.

A 13-member search committee recommended Dr. Ingenito’s appointment to Bishop Barres and he accepted the recommendation.

Dr. Philip J. Fromuth, Secretary for Catholic Education and Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Allentown called Dr. Ingenito “an outstanding educator and administrator (with) a wealth of experience.”

Dr. Ingenito will succeed James Angeline as principal. Angeline is retiring after five years as principal of his alma mater. Angeline came to Pius in 2007 after 38 years as a teacher and administrator at other Catholic and public high schools in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Pius X Junior/Senior High School, founded in 1951, has an enrollment of 295 students in grades seven through 12.
