The Diocese of Allentown has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Regional Coordinator of Youth Ministry in Schuylkill County, PA. Guided by pastoral documents, the Regional Coordinator will implement a comprehensive approach to youth ministry county-wide working with regional parish youth ministry leaders to empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today. The Coordinator will develop, coordinate and execute strategic initiatives for youth ministry throughout the region in partnership with the Secretariat for Catholic Life and Evangelization Offices, including Youth, Young Adult and Family Ministry, Adult Formation and Divine Worship
Primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Working with and guiding parish youth ministry leaders and volunteers to insure the eight (8) components of Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry is developed within their youth ministry programs.
- Providing intentional discipleship and formation opportunities for youth and adult leaders to foster the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Working closely with the Diocesan Youth, Young Adult and Family Office to deliver in-service training, materials, support and joint programming to parishes in the region with active youth ministry to foster the personal and spiritual growth of each young person.
- Implement initiatives which draw young people to participation in the mission and work of their regional Catholic faith community
Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree in Religious Education, Theology, or a related field and some formal training in Youth Ministry. Experience working with youth in a parish or high school setting is a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency with technology and social media are required. Knowledge of Diocesan structure a plus. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong follow through skills. Proven administrative experience, organizational leadership and interpersonal skills, project management, as well as creativity in program planning are also essential.
