   Office for Synod Implementation

The Most Reverend Edward P. Cullen, D.D., Bishop of Allentown, has appointed Reverend Monsignor David L. James, M.Div. as Episcopal Vicar for Synod Implementation. Monsignor James will work with the newly appointed Diocesan Pastoral Council, the Priest Personnel Board and the Diocesan Secretaries and their various offices to see that the statutes of the recently concluded Second Synod of Allentown are carried out.

An Episcopal Vicar, who must be a priest, shares in the Bishop's authority over a determined area of the Diocese, in this case over the implementation of the Synod.

Since June 2005, Monsignor James, 41, has been General Secretary of the Office of the Synod overseeing the Second Synod of Allentown. A native of St. Clair, Monsignor James was ordained a priest June 1, 1996 at the Cathedral of Saint Catharine of Siena in Allentown. Prior to his appointment as Synod General Secretary, Monsignor was an assistant pastor at the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena from 1996 to 2005. He is currently the pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Allentown.

Working with Monsignor James are Executive Assistant Deacon Gerald Schmidt and
Administrative Assistant Mrs. June Doncsecz.
