Multi-Cultural Affairs In response to the U.S. Catholic Bishops' document, Welcoming the Stranger Among Us: Unity in Diversity, the ministry of Multi-Cultural Affairs was established in the Diocese of Allentown. Mission In response to the U.S. Catholic Bishops’ document, “Welcoming the Stranger Among Us: Unity in Diversity” the ministry of Multicultural Affairs was established under the Office for Social Action. The purpose of this ministry is to create awareness to the rich ethnic diversity of the Diocese of Allentown and to develop outreach programs and resource materials, which will challenge parishes and individuals to genuinely strive for unity in diversity. The call for Communion, Solidarity and Conversion of our church towards the stranger in our midst is the essence of the U.S. Catholic Bishops’ Statement and the prayerful core of this office.
